How to Know When Someone Has Read Your Message on LinkedIn

You know, having this information is necessary because it opens your eyes to whoever you are in connection with. But don’t get too emotional finding out someone sidelined your message for later.

It could be for some reasons which you aren’t aware of. Everyone has personal things they are dealing with.

If you want to know if someone has read your message on LinkedIn, you would have to go to check your read receipt if it’s on or off.

If you turned your own off, you won’t be able to see it when someone reads your message.

But if yours is turned on, and you can tell if the recipient has read your message yet, it means he/she has turned off the read receipt feature on their device.

You might want to know what a read receipt is if you are just hearing it for the first time.

What are Read Receipts in LinkedIn?

A read receipt is simply a notification icon you see at the bottom of every message on LinkedIn. it tells you that the recipient has read your message.

This will only be seen if it is on either you the user or the recipient to whom you are sending a message.

You might have come across them not knowing that is what they are called.

I will be teaching you how the read receipt works, and how you can make use of it either on your mobile device or on your desktop computer.

How Does LinkedIn Read Receipt Work?

Generally, the LinkedIn receipts are turned on by default. If you are having conversations through messaging, you and the recipient both have to turn on the read receipt for it to be activated.

If they are turned on, then you can see if the other person has read your message or not.

On the right bottom of each message, you’ll see a small circle icon that drops down every time the recipient reads your message. The notification is different on the desktop and mobile.

For the desktop, you’ll be able to see a timestamp of when the message was viewed.

If you are making use of LinkedIn to make a sales broadcast, you’ll want to know how well your broadcast is doing. You want to make sure that the people you sent messages to opened them.

This is where the read receipts are important because it helps with your analytical report from time to time knowing who has read your message and who hasn’t.

If turning on/off your read receipt is quite technical for you, I will show you how to do it right here.
