How to Delete Facebook Pixel From Business Manager?

With the recent changes in Facebook Business Manager, advertisers cannot delete a Facebook pixel completely from their business manager.

However, you can remove it from an ads account you don’t want it to show up on, remove access from certain persons or even rename the Facebook pixel.

To remove a Facebook pixel from an ads account, simply follow the steps below:

Log in to your Facebook account and go to the business manager by visiting https://business.facebook.com/
Navigate to your Business Settings.

Click Data Sources. Then tap Pixels. You will find all of your Facebook pixels and associated ads accounts.
At the top right tab, click “Connected Assets.”
Next, hover over the Facebook pixel you wish to delete and click on the trash icon.

Finally, click Confirm to delete the pixel.

That’s it. You have now successfully disengaged the pixel from the ads account.

How to Delete a Facebook Pixel From a Website

The fastest way to delete a Facebook pixel is simply by removing it from your website.

With this step, you don’t need to delete the Pixel from the Facebook end as it will no longer send pixel data from your website to Facebook.

You need to know the exact pixel code on your website header that represents the actual pixel you want to delete especially when you have more than one pixel.

The easiest way to know the right pixel to delete is to check the Facebook pixel ID.

There are four ways how to install the Facebook Pixel on your website:

Manual Installation by a Web Developer.

Manual pixel installation using third-party plugins like Insert Header and Footer.
Partner Integration is you use any of the Facebook CMS partners such as WooCommerce, Joomla, Shopify, WordPress, Magento etc.
Manual Installation using Google Tag Manager.

Deleting Facebook Pixel Installed Mannually

To manually install the Facebook pixel, you have to remove the base code from the header of your website or remove it from the third-party plugin.

You can search for the pixel base code to confirm that it has been installed on your website by visiting your website and using the view page source feature to check your source code (Press CTRL+U for windows, Command + U for Mac).

Delete Facebook Pixel Code From Google Tag Manager

If you installed the Facebook pixel using the Google Tag Manager, you have to remove it from the container that triggers the Facebook event on your website.

You don’t need to be the one that set it up to be able to remove the tags for the Facebook pixel.

If the person that installed it has followed the naming convention’s best practices, you should be able to locate it and stop it from firing.

To do so, simply tap on the tags and confirm if they are the same as the Facebook Pixel base codes.

Log in to your Google Tag Manager.

Once it opens, you’ll see an option to either delete the Facebook Pixel Tags.
You can pause it first to confirm that you are on the FB Pixel that you wish to delete. Afterwards, tap on delete.

How to Delete Facebook Pixel From Shopify

If you have added a pixel on your Shopify and no longer want to use it, simply follow the steps below to delete it.

Tap on Online Stores.
Proceed to click on Preferences.
